Copywriter |
| |
What exactly is a 'copywriter'? First and foremost, it has nothing whatever to do with obtaining a copyright which is granted as a protection by a government to protect original works.
Copywriting is the process of wirting and editing written material (copy) for the purpose(s) of marketing. Nowadays, with the advent of the internet writing copy for search engine marketing (SEM) efforts presents a whole new opportunity for copywriters. Whereas, writers that write books (authors) or those that write creatively (poets), copywriters, generally speaking, confine their efforts to the commercial aspects of writing for marketing purposes.
There are entrepreneurial copywriters as well as staff copywriters that write for corporations and larger businesses. Communicating by writeen word is perhaps the most effective and timeless methods of disseminating information without misuderstanding.
Copywriting can be a lucrative career, if one protects their work with a copyright. |
